THE ART CLUB: A Creative Community for Teens

Homeschool and/or Extracurricular Virtual Art Class for middle & high school aged kids.

(12-18 years / Junior High & High School)

LAUNCHING FEB - MAY 2026!

  • This will be a virtual class held online with something every week.

  • It will be a mix of self-paced classes and assignments & live virtual meet-ups.

  • This is a 1/2 (60 hour) credit class (if homeschooling) or just a place for those interested in art who aren’t currently enrolled in an art class or want even more art! You, as the parent, will decide if you'd like me to grade their assignments.

  • We will use Google Classroom for assignments + Zoom for live meet-ups.

February 2, 2026 - May 28, 2026 - 17 weeks

Meeting time proposed: Mondays at 4:30 (central time)

The Art Club Goals:

  • create a community for teens that have a similar interest (I’ve noticed they don’t always feel like they fit in other groups, like athletics)

  • tips to manage stress with art

  • learn about popular artists, the importance of art, as well as some art history

  • grow critical thinking skills

  • learn new art techniques and explore different art mediums

About Me

Hi, I’m Jennifer – a professional watercolor illustrator

I am a self-employed artist. Mostly focused on watercolor illustration at this time.

PLEASE NOTE: Although anyone is welcome to join The Art Club, I am a Christian, and although I will not be speaking much on my faith during this time, I do want to create a space for teens who love and/or appreciate art without there being an underlying agenda. I intend to keep this very PG, not including things about an artist's sexual preferences or pushing unGodly ideology, which is sometimes prevalent in the art world. This will also be my standard in work that is created or shared in the group.

Quotes from past students:

"Jennifer - I wanted to tell you again how much I am enjoying your classes. You help bring out the creative side of me."

- Virginia, adult watercolor class

"I was so hesitant to do this because I have always said I can’t draw. I’m so proud of myself and I absolutely love the fellowship."

- Donis, adult watercolor class

"I love these classes. I am not an artist, nor will I ever be one, but Jennifer makes painting fun and allows me to feel like I could become an artist. I did the online class and she does an amazing job explaining each step."

- Judy, adult watercolor class

"Also I had a dream, you were in. It was just art class again and it was nice. I'm still thinking about those days, still always my favorite teacher."

- Anonymous, high school art student
