A Watercolor Crash-Course for
Non-Artists!

A 2-hour online course with me,
Jennifer Savage, a professional watercolor artist. I will teach you the very basics of getting started with watercolors.

No experience? No problem!

  • Are watercolors something you have been wanting to try but are intimidated by?

  • You’ve even purchased some supplies but don’t know where to start…?

  • You just need a creative outlet in your life or a new hobby that’s just yours...?

Then THIS class is for you!

Watercolors have a mind of their own, which creates a fun style, but can challenge your perfectionism, since they are not erasable and transparent. This makes them intimidating to many, but I believe it’s part of what gives it the quirky character that so many love.

Painting with watercolors is a surprisingly CLEAN (believe-it-or-not!) and portable hobby! Versus other types of painting that require much more set-up, supplies, AND cleaning… UGH.

Hi, I’m Jennifer – a professional watercolor illustrator

I love people! And I doubly love sharing my love of art with others. I have taught private classes, a local homeschool art class for kiddos, classes through the local art guild, and even as a public high school art teacher for a year.

And I want to share my love of watercolors with YOU.

I will walk you through step-by-step on getting started with watercolors…

This class is for beginners.

You don’t even have to consider yourself an artist.

Do you want…

•  A new creative outlet?

•  Something that is yours, that fills your cup?

•  A way to express your creativity, even if you don’t consider yourself a natural “creative”?

• To learn a new art medium?

Learning a new, creative skill will…

•  give you a new confidence in yourself.

•  provide a time to unplug from the digital world and create with your hands.

•  a way to de-stress and pause from the chaos of life.

•  fulfill a self-actualization need, studies show.

Did you know…

There are actual HEALTH benefits to having a “creative outlet”?!...

These include: lower blood pressure, reduce in cortisol (the stress hormone), decrease in BMI (Body Mass Index), reduce in anxiety/stress/depression, and increase in mindfulness acting as meditation.

So, just because you aren’t an artist (and probably have no desire to be) doesn’t mean you don’t still crave a positive outlet for stress, overwhelm, and overthinking.

"Jennifer taught us to create
a beautiful watercolor art piece…"

“We hosted a ‘painting party’ for the ladies of our church congregation.  Attendees aged from 6 to ‘I’m not telling.’ LOL  We ranged from no experience to some experience – we all learned a lot. She did a great job planning, preparing and teaching.  Everyone loved it and wants to do it again! “ - Kathy

More about the artist…

As a long-time lover and student of the fine arts, I started drawing when I was 5 years old. It was my ‘thing.’ So when kiddos ask me, “how do you do that?!,” I respond with, “If you practice anything for 30 years, you’ll probably be good at it.” ;)

With various art classes – really any I could find and my parents would allow me to take – I just loved creating. Learning new mediums. Making something with my hands.

I attended college at O’More College of Design (2010 cum laude graduate) in Franklin, where I studied “visual communications”… aka graphic design. I took an Illustration class in college, where I was introduced to watercolors.

I currently work as a watercolor illustrator out of my home studio in middle Tennessee.

I love stepping back from the computer and using watercolors, pencils, and pens to create something personalized with my own two hands. And I use my graphic design training to edit my work, set up for print, etc. for my products sold under my business name, Cordially Creative.

My long-haired, dappled dachshund, Oliver, also helps with moral support of tail wags and puppy love.

I’d love to know how I can use my God-given talents to serve you!
